…’m not going to lie — I’m terrified. I know it’s silly to worry but that doesn’t matter to my mind. Examining the fear made me realize that I’m only afraid because I’ve never danced or been on a stage before. So I asked myself again, what’s the worst that can happen?
I’ve taught dance for a long time and I’ve seen a lot of daddy daughter dances in my days. Yeah, it’s weird and kind of scary for the dads, but the audience is without fail so delighted to see them and very supportive of their efforts. It doesn’t matter how good or bad you are, or if you mess stuff up. It’s the fact that you’re willing to go up there and support your kiddos that they respond to.
If it helps, the lights make it so you can’t see much of the audience, which I find reassuring. You’re going to rock it!
