SPOILERS
It seems a lot of my issues with The Shining movie were likely addressed in the book. The fact that Jack Nicholson’s character didn’t get much of an arc. Shelley Duvall’s character being such a weenie. The way they killed Scatman Crothers off with very little ceremony. The movie looks and sounds great, but some of the story stuff irritated me.
I was also annoyed that they made such a big deal out of the whole Room 237 thing, but in the end it was just another room with a ghost in it. There were ghosts EVERYWHERE! What made that room and ghost especially terrible and worth avoiding? Meh.
