Rain had fallen for six days straight and showed no signs of letting up. David’s walk home was twelve blocks, not long enough to pay for the bus that stopped once an hour, but long enough for the rain to soak through his waterproof coat and make its way into his imitation leather shoes.
Funny how those twelve block seemed to multiply each day. And what waited for him at home? A quiet…
